Expert Meeting 2008

On Tuesday, 19 February 2008, an expert meeting took place at Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage on new developments in research and practices of contemporary art conservation. The meeting was part of the initiative to establish a research programme New Strategies in Conservation.
For this meeting 20 academics and museum professionals, and 5 keynote speakers were invited. Lectures were given by Glenn Wharton (New York University and MoMA, New York), Alison Bracker (Royal Academy of Arts, Londen and Bracker-Fiske consultants), Sanneke Stigter (Kröller-Müller Museum and University of Amsterdam), and Sally Wyatt (Virtual Knowledge Studio/KNAW and Maastricht University).

The meeting was organised by members of the research group: Renée van de Vall (UM), Deborah Cherry (UvA), Tatja Scholte (ICN), Vivian van Saaze (UM and ICN) and IJsbrand Hummelen (ICN).

On November 17th 2010, a PhD work-in-progress day was organized at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in Maastricht, The Netherlands. The work-in-progress day was set up in the framework of the New Strategies in the Conservation of Contemporary Art Research project and the recently established PhD & Postdoctoral research network.
